The best part about macro-counting is that no foods are off limits, including alcohol! Alcohol is calculated a little bit differently, though, so don't add it straight from the database or the macros will be incorrect. Alcohol is actually a separate macro - while fat has 9 calories per gram and carbs/protein have 4 calories per gram, alcohol has 7 calories per gram. But because alcohol isn't regulated by the FDA, the Nutrition Facts label does not list the grams of alcohol in your beverage, only the total calories. So, in order to account for the "macro value" of alcohol, we assign the drink's calories to either carbs or fat instead.
